NEW YORK (AP) — Google said Sunday that it is expanding the shopping features in its AI chatbot by teaming up with Walmart, Shopify, Wayfair and other big retailers to turn the Gemini app into a virtual merchant as well as an assistant.

You can use ChatGPT as a search engine, much like Google's home page. Go to chatgpt.com or download the ChatGPT app on Apple's App Store or on the Google Play Store. Open the app or website, and type in your question or prompt. You can use the voice function, attach files and even browse trending topics under Search.

Unlike more widely known chatbots, Venice AI offers private, uncensored access to generative AI tools. It supports text generation, image creation, real-time web search, and a developer API. The platform uses tokens—VVV and DIEM—to allocate daily AI inference instead of charging per request.

These are among the first settlements in lawsuits accusing AI companies of harming users, a legal frontier that must have OpenAI and Meta watching nervously from the wings as they defend themselves against similar lawsuits.

California is taking action as AI chatbots become increasingly common and increasingly convincing. Starting this year, two new laws aim to make AI interactions safer and more transparent.
