LAS VEGAS (AP) — The highly decorated soldier who exploded a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump hotel in Las Vegas used generative AI including ChatGPT to help plan the attack, Las Vegas police said Tuesday. The updates Tuesday come nearly a week after 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger fatally shot himself just before the truck blew up.

Las Vegas police say that Matthew Livelsberger, the soldier who detonated a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel last week, used generative AI, including ChatGPT, to help plan the attack.

The explosion outside the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas on New Year's Day is being investigated as a possible act of terrorism, sources said.
