OAKLAND — The Golden State Valkyries have waived second-round pick Shyanne Sellers, the team announced on Saturday. Sellers is the first player to be cut from the WNBA expansion team’s training camp roster.

Making the roster in any professional sport is a struggle, but the WNBA is a different gravy. Due to structural limits, there are only 12 roster spots available on each of the 13 teams, meaning the league offers only around 156 spots in total.
