Six unarmed soldiers stopped a Fort Stewart shooter and gave life-saving aid, earning medals for heroism under fire, officials said.

A half-dozen soldiers at a Georgia Army base are being hailed as heroes for tackling an armed assailant accused of shooting five people. The soldiers then gave aid to their wounded colleagues.
