Detroit Tigers center fielder Parker Meadows broke his left forearm and sustained a concussion during a scary head-to-head collision with teammate Riley Greene on Thursday at Minnesota as they converged on a fly ball in the eighth inning against the Twins.
The hits keep coming for the Detroit Tigers and now roster moves are announced due to Parker Meadows on-field collision injuries.
Outfielder Wenceel Pérez has been recalled from Triple-A Toledo in Meadows’ stead. Pérez had a slow spring and lost out on a close competition for one of the outfield spots coming into Opening Day. However, he’s swung the bat well with the Mud Hens, posting a .250/.353/.455 slash with two homes and strikeout and walk rates of 13.7 percent each.
