Angel Reese and Hailey Van Lith, the former LSU Tigers player, were given an emotional tribute as they kicked off their WNBA journey after a stunning college career. The two returned to Baton Rouge on Friday night in the Chicago Key’s opener against the Brazil national team in their first WNBA season.

Before Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese was a dominant force in the WNBA, she was breaking records and winning championships in college for the LSU Tigers. She and her teammates famously took down Caitlin Clark and Iowa during the 2023 National Championship Game, which catapulted Reese into being a polarizing figure.

While Reese was the center of attention Friday night, she wasn't the only player who suited up for Mulkey's Tigers on the Sky roster. Hailey Van Lith, who played the 2023-24 season at LSU, was recently drafted by the Sky. Van Lith put together a successful season at TCU before making the leap to the WNBA.
