Jesus Montero, who was a highly-touted prospect for the New York Yankees who played one season for the franchise before four more with the Seattle Mariners, died at the age of 35.

Former MLB catcher Jesus Montero has died at age 35, the New York Yankees announced Sunday.

The Seattle Times -- citing Venezuelan outlets -- reported earlier this month that Montero was driving a motorcycle in his home country when he was hit by a pickup truck.
