A man arrested in connection with the death of a woman aboard a ferry bound for Rosslare Europort from Wales yesterday afternoon continues to be questioned by gardaí on Wednesday morning. Gardaí along with the public order unit were called to what they described as a “serious incident” on the Stena Nordica passenger ferry from Fishguard.

Gardaí (Irish police) are investigating the death of a woman in unexplained circumstances on board a cross channel ferry in the Republic of Ireland. A man has been arrested in connection with the investigation and is currently detained.

The Stena Nordica had travelled from Fishguard in Wales to Rosslare in Co Wexford earlier this evening and gardaí (Irish police) are currently at the scene.
