Theranos founder and former chief executive Elizabeth Holmes has lost an appeal against her conviction for defrauding investors in her blood-testing company. Holmes was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison.

A federal appeals court in San Francisco has upheld a fraud conviction against Elizabeth Holmes. The disgraced founder of the blood-testing startup Theranos is serving an 11-year prison sentence for defrauding investors with false claims of what her company could achieve.

On Monday, a California federal appeals court denied Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes' plea to have her 2022 fraud conviction overturned. Holmes and her former partner are serving prison time over false claims made to investors in her blood-testing startup company.
