In the coming weeks, the Internal Revenue Service is set to send approximately 1 million taxpayers $1,400 stimulus checks, according to officials.

The IRS will send an estimated $2.4 billion to taxpayers who didn’t claim the recovery rebate credit on their 2021 tax returns. About 1 million taxpayers were eligible for the credit but failed to claim

Approximately 1 million taxpayers will automatically receive special stimulus payments of up to $1,400 from the IRS via direct deposit or check by late January 2025.
