Coco Gauff arrived on the court on Thursday ready to dominate at the Mutua Madrid Open semifinals. The American tennis star faced Iga Swiatek, notably the Queen of Clay and an opponent Gauff has struggled against in her career.

Gauff destroyed Swiatek with only two lost games in Madrid but Simona Halep once recorded an even more dominant win against the Pole on clay.

It was Świątek's worst loss on clay since 2019. She must now regroup for the Italian Open in Rome, where she is the defending champion.
