Five Massachusetts college students are due in court, accused of plotting to lure a man through a dating app into visiting campus as part of a TikTok trend.

Police say six students at a Massachusetts college lured a man to campus on the promise of a hook-up. There, he was chased and beaten in a TikTok-inspired trend.

The group, as first reported by the Telegram & Gazette, is among six students, including one juvenile, accused of luring a man to campus Oct. 1 and siccing a mob of more than 20 students on him in a “To Catch a Predator”-inspired social media stunt gone awry.

WORCESTER — Five students at Assumption University were arraigned in Worcester District Court Thursday on charges of kidnapping a man they allegedly lured to campus through a dating app in a “To Catch a Predator”-type sting.

WORCESTER ― A lawyer for one of five Assumption University students set to be arraigned Thursday in Central District Court for allegedly kidnapping a man as part of a TikTok trend gone awry said Wednesday that his client maintains her innocence and will seek a swift dismissal of the charges against her.

The students, all teens at Assumption University in Worcester, were arraigned on conspiracy and kidnapping charges in District Court.
