Walk around Speicherstadt, which is an area of warehouse buildings that are about 150 years old. Good in the summer, bring some sunscreen, stop for a coffee, get a fish sandwich at the peer. Full review by KimchiNinja

hi, I didn't use any boat... just walking around the streets and bridges. I don't think there are boats for tourist that can pass here. The only one I saw it was in the main channel.

Camping Buchholz looks to be as close as you can get and that is not in the city centre, but like previous advice said, try to park outside Hamburg and use a hostel.
