I haven't seen Lancaster Castle since childhood, so it was a nostalgic visit. Historical piece of architecture and some great photo ops, be aware of tour times while planning your visit.Full review by David M
I had gone through the answers to some of the questions. Some had stated that the tour is free but it says 8 pounds per adult on the website. Can someone clarify this? Is it open for those who wish to tour the exterior of the castle instead of going for the tour?

Absolutely worth the £!!!! Take the tour. The tour guides are fabulous. BTW, no photo allowed inside the castle. Enjoy!

Yes you can enter the castle for free but to see the prison and courts you have to do the guided tour for which when I was there there was a charge of £8
Hi. Are tours of any parts of the inside likely to resume anytime soon, or are the free tours of the outside only going to continue for the foreseeable Please?

Hi Shirley, when I went part of the tour was inside, you got to see the court rooms, but not sure if they usually show you more.
